Contact your computer manufacturer with your service Tag number and they will do the rest of investigation. Trust me on this, sweetie, your notebook will be found if the person uses it to go on the Internet.

Best regard.

First priority is determining what the person may be able to access. Will it automatically sign into your Internet account? If so, get it shut down. From there, will it auto-sign into any sensitive sites? Make sure any personal sites are aware and have all passwords reset. Do you have personal info on the hard drive.

Chances of tracking it down are slim. Once they have any info they want, they will most likely reformat the hard drive, which will eliminate any tie to you, and then sell the laptop or use it for themselves.

There is not much you can do about it online as far as I have seen.

Your best bet would be to give the model number and the serial number of the laptop to both the police and any place around town that you could sell a used laptop to. You know... used computer stores, Pawn shops etc.

Only if you installed software. Most likely it's just gone. Sorry to hear that.
