hi christine! if the virus was bad, u may have had to format ur hard drive and reinstall ur applications. if that's the case, then ur music library on your computer was deleted :(

but wait, you still have a chance at getting ur music library back!! r u songs still on ur ipod? if so, u can transfer the songs from ur ipod to ur itunes library! give this a try:

1. start itunes and plug in ur ipod.

2. on the menu that appears in itunes when u plug ur ipod in, make sure u have the "manage music and videos manually" option selected (on the Summary tab of the screen that opens - check the box next to "manage music and videos manually").

3. on the left side of the itunes window where ur ipod shows up in the list, click the arrow just to the left of ur ipod name. the arrow will turn into a "down arrow" and display a list beneath ur ipod. click the "Music" item in this list and the music on ur ipod will be displayed in the right side of the itunes window.

4. now select all of the songs (from the right side of the itunes window) and drag them to the Library on the left side of the itunes window. now all of ur songs on ur ipod should be copied to ur itunes library!

once u get ur itunes library back, please subscribe to my FREE video podcast on iTunes: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=183309259

yes, this happened to me twice. there is a program called limewire. it lets you download music for free. go to www.limewire.com and download the basic version of this. at least you will get your songs back and wont have to pay for it.

The only way to get them back is to get them free this time from lime wire.com
