I am 75 effaced, -2 stage, and dialated to 6....my labor just stopped there dead in its tracks so they sent me homw. What can I do to get the ball rolling again?

Also I am 36 wks and 3 days....they gave me stadol for pain thats when i stopped progressing...because i wasnt further along is y they wouldnt break my water

Why would the hospital send you home? I have never heard of a woman dilated to a 6 being sent home. Try walking...but be close to the hospital. You can go from 6 to 10 in no time. Believe me I know. I went from a 4 to a 10 in about 3 minutes wtih one of my deliveries.

wow, really 6 centimeters and they sent you home? that doesn't sound right. i would think that they would have done something more for you like putting you on pitocin or breaking your water for you. you are to far dialated to have been sent home. i think you should get yourself back to that hospital and complain or go to another one and tell them your situation. that just crazy to me. anyways though to answer you question. the best thing for you to do is probably walking to help get it going again. just know that being at 6 centimeters though you could dialate to 10 rather quickly. good luck and i am sorry that you have to deal with such a bad hospital.

What kind of hospital/doctor would send you home dilated 6 cm! How stupid are they! You could go from 6 to 10 in a few minutes and not have time to get back to hospital. Any normal doc would have given you a pitocin drip to get labor going again. I would go back to the hospital and tell them I'm not leaving!

I didn't know they would send you home if you were that far dialated. Genrally they'd start you on a pitocin drip to get the labor going in hospital.

They sent you home? Are your doctors stupid? You can go from 6 to 10 centimeters in a matter of minutes. Next kid you have, change doctors or hospitals.

I'm surprised they sent you home with a stalled pregnancy. I would call your OB and ask what you should do- and what s/he thinks the problem might be. Stalled pregnancies can happen for quite a few reasons, and not all of them are able to resolve themselves. (I.E. you might need a c-section)

To get your labor started up again...u can walk around alot, have sex, or eat spicy foods....those are good ways to get ready to bring your little sweetheart into the world! Good Luck!

Sue the hospital, you are at strong risk for infection at this point....what hospital are you at? Just so I know what hospital NOT to go to.
