My cousin wants to buy a cell phone for verizon from ebay. But his two year contract for verizon isn't over yet. Can he just buy the phone from ebay without having to cancel the contract and just activate it? Or does he need to get a new contract?

He should be able to change to the new phone. Verizon will just have to program it for him.

If he breaks his contract for SERVICE they will nail for it. But they really don't care where you get your phone from.

It depends on who he buys it from on ebay. usually if you click on one and read there page it should say "w/o contract "or sometimes you will have to get a contract. Make sure you read there reviews to make sure there not going to cheat you out your money!!!
