I'm also looking for the name of one of his poems. I've heard the first verse, but I wanna read the rest:

The day is cold and dark and dreary,
It rains and the wind is never weary,

Oh the cruel winter ever thicker, thicker, thicker,
Froze the ice on lake and river,

Silent and soft and slow descends the snow.....

Here is the poem that you are looking for (it is called "The Rainy Day"):
http://www.bartleby.com/42/780.html

Here are a couple more sites with some of his poems:
http://plagiarist.com/poetry/poets/239/
http://www.everypoet.com/archive/poetry/Henry_Wadsworth_Longfellow/longfellow_contents.htm
http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/1365

On Gutenberg, you can download an e-book of his complete works for free, because they are no longer copyrighted in the United States.

Enjoy!
