I am trying to name the main charachter in my story, but cant seen to think of a really good one. The major charactor is a rich, beautiful girl, who is destined for a terrible fate. I need a name that sounds foreboding, but not obviously so. You know what I mean? I hope you do. She's blond with gray eyes, and she lived in the late part of the 19th century. Thanks so much!

I write scripts so I have a few Ideas, you need a name that was popular during that time period and you need a name that describes her. I have a few suggestions: Abigail, Elizabeth, Kathryn, Marie, and Clara. Send me a copy of the story when you are done, I'd love to read it.

Get a book of baby names. Many of them have the roots of the names, generally accompanied by their original meanings. It's a great way to come up with interesting names you never would have thought of on your own. If you get one of the better books, it will tell you what time period the names were most common. That met be helpful for you considering you're writing about a character from the 1800s. I highly recommend it.

Well if you don't mind the Sleeping Beauty reference, Aurora seems like a fairly good name for your character.
