They asked the same question in the 70's, 60's, 50's probably as far back as the 20's and farther. The answer, I think, is yes and every generation the kids grow up faster. This is in their mental out look on things, the things they want, things they think they should be able to do, and understanding in general.
Just imagine what it will all be like in 50 years.

I think so - or at least they think they are. I'm not sure how much grown up behaviour is indicated by upsetting your mum. Its not very mature, is it? I am sure you are giving her a childhood to remember, just stick at it. There are other influences that you have to fight against, what they see on TV, what they hear in the playground and so on - even in newspapers these days where The Daily Sport is considered innocuous enough to be on the same shelf as normal newspapers! Things have changed...the pressures are the same but more advanced... I wish you all the best..

The times have changed, and they are having to grow up a lot earlier I think. Society is putting too much on them too early. Playschool used to be a time for them to learn to socialise, PLAY! have some fun, but appreciate other people & respect others. I feel that too much is put on these league tables. The teachers have so many reports etc to write now, they dont get the time to do the job they went into teaching for.... to teach!! I know of two teachers that have given up as they feel they arent able to do the job they trained for and wanted to do.

Things have moved on and if you take it back to when our parents were kids things changed then. My parents were young when they had me, It does seem that kids grow up to fast and we could blame it on TV and magazines but at the end of the day it is us parents now that have to keep our children in check and this may sound hard to hear to some parents (BUT STOP FEED YOUR KIDS CRAP) have you never heard of fresh fruit and veg and instead of fruitshots water or milk and that's full fat as they need. You don't need to stay at home to have good kids just treat them right tell them you love them and for god sake when you tell them of make sure you mean what you say.

Every child is different, but when I grew up the children's TV was about 2 hours a day and the most violent bit was when tigger trashed rabbits veg patch. Now the brats are having bad hair days 24 seven and power rangers are doing martial arts from dawn til dusk. Easy to blame TV I know but it hasn't helped. Mine are 3 and 5 and getting harder to handle every day.

yes they grow up faster cause of too much exposure of things which is not supposed to be for kids and make them think they want to grow older as fast as they want. it's my experience, i came from a place in a different country with less technology and less exposure, but now technologies are getting higher and higher that the country where i came from that before to be so called less technology are now become more on high tech that the kids change too including my sisters that they grow up faster. another thing, luck of parents responsibility were they supposed to be on their side to guide them but they aren't cause they are too busy with their works to have more money to paid the childcare to look after their kids which supposed to be that's their number one priorities as a parents.

yes far to fast , These days you have to keep to what you say , other wise they are on top of you like wild animals , If the first word that comes out your mouth is yes , then they remember but if you say no , they nag-nag-nag, till you finally give in. So the best way is stick to what you say.
