I've been suffering from acne for years, and have tried everything out there, prescription and nonprescription. There are tons of oral medications to treat it.

Some of them are Accutane, antibiotics, tetracycline, minocycline, ampicillin, spironolactone, and the list goes on......

Best advice: try Zeno. It is over the counter and it is this little device that heats up your pimple and kills the bacteria inside. Monitor what you eat. If you break out 1/2 an hour after you eat something, stop eating it for a week. If it goes away, and it happens again when you eat it, eliminate it from your diet. Use scent-free laundry detergents and soaps, and make sure your makeup has a glycerin base. If that doesn't work, find a good dermatologist, and be patient. It takes time to find the right treatment.

The most common pill prescribed for acne is Tetracycline. However, I was allergic to it and got prescribed Cephalexin (generic for Keflex) It works great.
You could also try a topical cream that contains benzoyl peroxide and an antibiotic (clindamycin) The RX is called Duac.
Good luck : )

You could try a multi-vitamin (I take prenatal vitamins that I can buy over the counter, I buy mine at Wal-Mart and yes my dr said it was ok to do) or try antibiotics.

I would recommend checking with your dr to see what they suggest.
