i have tried to pick him up, but when i look for him it says that he isnt in the players list...why is this???

Because Phillip Hughes is still in the "minors".
Y! fantasy leagues don't have most prospects or minor leaguers in their databases.

I am taking the year off from fantasy sports, however I can tell you this much..... if someone is a prospect who has not yet played or is strictly a DH (designated hitter), they will not appear. Most leagues require a player to play a minimum of 5 games (sometimes more) at a position in the field before they are listed.

Because he is not on a MLB team list either. Minor league players will not be listed on Yahoo until they are listed on the official 25 man roster of a MLB team.
