They're regarded as a great band in England. Unfortnately here in the US they're more known as originaters of the Quiet Riot songs Mama Weer All crazy Now and *** On Feel The Noize. It took the Quiet Riot covers for them to be recognized in the US with the album Keep Your Hands Off my Power Supply which spurned 2 top 50 hiits Run, Runaway and My Oh My.

They ARE regarded as a great band and anyone who disagrees is deaf (just like many older Slade fans - Wall of sound anyone ?)

well if you the regular punter - he probably wouldn't agree - Slade are (was) a great rock band - but thats usually what happens with this kind of artists who are "too plain" for the elitist media and rock critics...then again the bands they are really louding; who needs them...

Slade were good, but not great.
Because of their wild and wacky ways they probably upset more "rich" people than they got on with, and in the music industry its not what you know.

some years ago they were caught lip sycning at a live concert!!! it caused a riot at the venue, not just not singing but not actualy playing the music either!!!
