Try taking bbt and charting it so that you can find out when you ovulate. You can also try buying an ovulation kit. If that doesn't work for you then your ob/gyn should do hormone testing to make sure that you are ok. If everything is well maybe than can push things along with clomid or something to help. I hope that everything works out for you. Good luck!

LOL, darling, if I had a dollar for all the times someone patronizingly told me to "just relax" and it would happen... (bitter laugh). Now I'm 36 and have finally been diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, and I can do something about it.

If you've been TTC for a year, don't wait any longer. Over 80% of couples should be pregnant by then.

If any of the factors below apply to you, ask your Ob-gyn to refer you to a endocrinologist for evaluation for PCOS.

- You have excess hair on your upper lip, chin, underside of your jaw.
- You have irregular periods, or no periods at all.
- You ovulate irregularly or not at all.
- You have thinning scalp hair.
- You have acne or oily skin.
- You have brown patches or "skin tags" under your arms or breasts.
- You are overweight and carry your excess fat mostly around your middle (apple shape).
- You have not conceived after 1 year of trying.
- You have had more than 1 miscarriage.

Understand that you do not have to have all the signs above to be diagnosed with PCOS. But if you see a pattern, it could be that you have a degree of insulin resistance (IR), which can make it hard to conceive.

You should insist on being referred to a Reproductive Endocrinologist. I would not let a regular Ob-gyn treat me, because many Ob-Gyns still don't understand how to treat PCOS appropriately. (As for regular family practice doctors: ha, ha, ha...)

Also ask your specialist for a vaginal ultrasound to see if you have have polycystic ovaries or not (the major feature of PCOS).

If you think you may have PCOS, don't wait to treat it. It is not just an ovarian problem, and it will not just go away on its own. The earlier you get help, the easier it will be to overcome.

For anyone trying to conceive, I highly recommend Toni Weschler's book Taking Charge of Your Fertility.

Hope all this helps.

Ask your doctor about Clomid. It's the cheapest and first step in getting someone to ovulate. When we first started TTC, I didn't know that I wasn't ovulating, after 9 months of nothing, my doctor tested my progesterone, and found out that I didn't ovulate. Put me on Clomind and by month 2 I was ovulating. Its 1 pill days 3-5 of your period. Good Luck!!!

clinical analysis is all fine for what it is, but they don't take a very holistic approach.

Stress drastically reduces fertility so freaking out is a big no no. Caffine dramatically reduces fretility. The less you have the better. Proper nutrition dramatically increases fertility. It's much cheaper to see a good nutritionist and actually take ALL their advise than to take fertility stuff if you can help it.

Men need extra zinc for good healthy sperm. Sexual frequency and how much time you have apart from your partner relate dramatically to sperm production as well. Spending time away can actually triple sperm counts in men. send him off camping with the guys for the weeking or something testosterone related like that.

If you are not ovulating every month, many times it is can be health related. it sounds dumb but regular moderate exercise and properly balanced nitrition have an amazing effect on a woman's fertility. doc's can't tell you this in the states for liability reasons(can't site specific studies and clinical analysis mathematically on paper), but I'm in New Zealand and this is basic stuff here.

I was once in your situation and i was finding it really difficult to conceive. The best thing i suggust you do is to try and conceive on the date that you are expecting to ovulate or maybe a 2-5 days before you ovulate but not after because the egg only stays inside you for 24hrs. so go ahead and try this. you can know your ovulation date by doing the test. its usually 15 days before your next period. so good luck to you and your husband. i reaaly do hope it works because it has worked for me. eventhough i was once told that a woman can get pregnant at any given time.

Here are a few things to consider. 1 - are you at a healthy weight? (BMI 20-25) Being either under or over weight will tax your system. 2 - have you had your progesterone checked? Your OB can order a blood test to make sure that level is okay 3- have you had your thyroid checked. Over 10% of women have thyroid disease - many undiagnosed - and one of the side effects is infertility. It can be checked through a blood test ordered by your General Pract. & treated easily w/ (pregnancy safe) medication.

That's the problem. You're "TRYING" to have a baby when you should be just enjoying each other. "Trying" can be very stressful and throw everything out of wack. Just get some wine, some soothing, romantic baby making music, reserve a room at a nice hotel, dance and love each other, and before you know it, you'll have a house full of pattering feet. Just relax, enjoy each other, and stop trying and let nature take it course. Happy baby making!!!

You`re trying too hard, relax and put it out of mind for awhile. Have u not heard of a couple trying to conceive with no luck, so they adopt a baby and with the stress gone, wouldn`t u know...the wife gets pregnant. That has happened many times. So try to relax and let nature take it`s course. It will happen in due time.

Relaxing will not cure medical problems related to infertility. After one year of timed unprotected sex (if under 35) and no pg it is time for you to see a reproductive endocrinologist .

As you seek medical treatment I suggest the website fertilethoughts where you can get advice and support.

Has your partner gotten check to make sure he doesn't have low sperm count? Since your Dr. said you do not ovulate, has he given you anything to help with the ovulation? If you are not sure, get a secong opinion from another Dr. concerning your fertility. Read link below. Good Luck.
