Many girls a re getting their period as young as nine years old now. The average age is around twelve, but fourteen is not weird for not having it yet.
YES you can get pregnant!!!!!! If you ovulate you can get pregnant. You may ovulate, and not know it, then get your first period.
Anyone who tells you otherwise does NOT know what they are talking about.
Generally you can not get pregnant while you currently have your period. But you can get pregnant before or after your period starts or ends. Everyone ovulates around the 10th to14th day of your cycle-mid cycle. Sperm has been found to be able to live for up to two days in the females body. so you can get pregnant if you have sex around the time you ovulate.

No it's not weird sweety!! Your body knows when it is ready. Some girls don't get their period until their late teens.
But yes you CAN get pregnant. During the month before you get your period you ovulate, so therefore it is possible to get pregnant.
And I hate to sound stuffy but at 14 getting pregnant shouldnt even be a question! You are still growing, your body is NOT emotionally or physically ready for pregnancy. At 14 how can you think you have met the right person to give your virginity to?
Not method of birth control is 100% safe, and a your age a prenancy or botched aboriton could kill you or leave you unable to bear children when you get older.
So wait...it will be worth it!

I got my first period at 15. It isn't weird. Your period depends on how much you weigh, if you are really into sports, it can delay it (you need body fat to get them), and genetics. Ask your Mom when she got hers.
BUT, YOU CAN GET PREGNANT, EVEN IF YOU DONT HAVE YOUR PERIOD YET!
Your ovaries start producing eggs every month long before your periods start.
I have a friend who got pregnant at 10 years old. It was her first time, never had sex before, and thought she was safe because she didn't have her period. I remember her saying she never wanted to have sex again because it hurt. Her parents found out a month later when she was throwing up and they took her to the doctor. They made her give the baby up for adoption.
DON'T RISK IT!!

I would not ever second guess the fact that you could get pregnant. This is a matter you REALLY should be discussing with your parent and a doctor. My bigger concern is that you are 14 and asking about pregnancy. That really is scary. If you are not being smart and already having sex you really should be talking to your parents and also practicing safe sex. There are too many diseases that can ruin the rest of your life not to mention your future in having to raise a baby. Good luck and really think is it worth it?

oh, your the same age as my little sister....she was just curious about almost the same thing....Well, Just because you haven't gotten your period yet, DOES NOT mean YOU cant get pregnant. YOU ARE STILL ABLE TO GET PREGNANT! Your body is still probably preparing for it...Dont worry...So if you are thinking about having sex, becareful, you dont want to have a baby at your age. your body isn't ready for it, especially if you havnet gotten your period yet...there are many complications and risk for pregnangy at your age.....Dont worry, you will get it....you can also go to the doctor, and let him know you havent yet....u will eventually, trust me you will wish you didnt have it when you do.....O and I recommend you starting with pads first, and later working to a tampon.....probably not until ur 16 or sexually active, they will be uncomfortable for you right now.

Your period can come at any age. You could get when your 19, it just depends on how quickly your body develops. You can get pregnant if you haven't had your period. If I were you I'd be happy to not have my period, I got mine when I was 12. Since then it has been cramps, backaches, headaches and being uncomfortable, but that's just me.

Actually, you can get pregnant. You ovulate before you have your first period so a pregnancy could happen if you have sex. Just wait for love and use protection, OK? I think the age you start worrying about menstrual abnormalites if 15 or 16, so just relax!

You can start you period between the ages of 8-16. If you haven't gotten it by the time you're 16, you should see an OB/GYN. Check out womenshealth.gov and look up menstruation and menses for more answers.
You can't get pregnant if you haven't started your period yet. You're too young to have sex, but if you are, then use protection. Its made to protect you from STDs as well, not just pregnancy.

If you do not have your period you can not get pregnant, there is no reason to go to the doctor specifically if you do not have your period until you are 16, but i would just mention it, the next time I go in for a check up
