A needle in a haystack, really.
Her family was murdered. There is belief that she is out there somewhere because her body wasn't found. There are movies and stories based on what COULD have happened to her had she lived.

First of all Anastasia is not a Disney movie, 20Th Century Fox made it. Secondly, yes there was a real Russian Princess named Anastasia.

Because it's Disney. Just as people don't go to Disneyland or Disneyworld to experience homelessness & depression, people don't tune into their channel to get real life experiences. The entire Disney brand is built on fantasy. If you want a realistic Teen channel you should check to see if you cable provider offers The N. It's shows tackle bulimia, teen pregnancy, school violence, homosexuality and a host of relevent other topics. Disney is just offering what it's audiences have also asked for and continue to support - Fantasy.

Are you talking about the 1997 movie Anastasia? If so it was made by 20th Century Fox not Disney. While there were some very loose associations to historical data it was primarily done with " Artistic License" (Writer talk for lies and damn lies)

Pretty much it doesn't match at all.
For example, Rasputin was an advisor of the Csar's, not a magical wizard. It is true that much of the royal family was assasinated, however, Rasputin was dead before that even happened. It is also true that one of the four daughters of the csar's body was never found, presumably Anastasia's. A woman did claim to be Anastasia but she died before DNA testing was invented so no one was ever sure.

Oh please, come on! Its a cartoon, aimed at kids. Its not a historical document (and its not a Disney movie either).
If you want to know the actual history, read a few history books. If you want to be entertained by pretty colors and cute songs for an hour and a half, watch a feature length cartoon.

that movie was based on a true story... wow i didnt know that, well i bet that she was seperated from her family, but the sorcerer and the bat guy were probably made up
