Why do you think Britain was able to avoid the upheavals that plagued France?

The English aristocracy quickly learned the lesson of what happened to the French bourgoius - if the didn't co-operate with the revolution they would lose their heads. The English aristocrats would probably have sympathised with the problems, but at the same time they also helped their French peers escape across the channel.
And the Monarchy also realised that they had better co-operate with Parliament or risk a second Civil War. As the monarchy had already been overthrown before by Oliver Cromwell in the 1600's.

britain was not involved in the napoleonic wars and did not have the economic problems that france had as a result of these wars.
