The lightly sunkisses look is good, but the orange look makes you look like you don't own a mirror!!!!!

Well although tanned looks better it isn't as healthy so with that way of thinking pale is better. Plus if you're over-tanned, like sunbed look it looks awful anyway so pale wins again. It's funny the way things change isn't it - in the old days when people used to work in the fields tanned skin was seen as a mark of the lower classes. Women went out of their way to stay out of the sun and wore big brimmed hats and kept their shoulders covered. A pale skinned woman was a rich, well to do woman..... Nowdays tans are the things to have - it's a sign of wealth as to have a tan you can afford either luxury holidays in the sun and/or sunbeds!! Strange huh?!
Sorry just my little musings there? To get back to the question: I don't go out of my way to get a tan anymore, I'm naturally fair skined and take care to cover up. Sure I'll lay on the beach and even try to make it equal all over, eg no strap marks etc, but I know the pain of sunburn too well so I keep covered when it's hottest! I don't think one is better than the other expect from a health point of view, just go with what you fancy!

Our local beauty salon has an offer at the moment of half-price sun bed sessions. I suppose the skin cancer's free.
The only good tan is one that hasn't been acquired by roasting yourself in the sun or on a sunbed. Slap on the sunblock and stay safe and pale. Or use one of the excellent self-tanning lotions that build up a subtle tan slowly. Remember you're beautiful, tanned or not.

There are some people who are naturally very pale but those that have 'been tangoed' choose to.
Either way tanned and pale people aren't neccessarily ugly. I'd prefer pale people.

TANNING IS UNHEALTHY! I wish that they would 'teach that in schools' the way they do 'sex education' because our 'world' is 'changing' and the 'air' is not the same as it was when I was young ... and there is 'far too much bad stuff' that can come from the suns 'rays' ... stuff that leads to 'early aging' and also to many different kinds of SKIN CANCER. So, I'm sorry, but to me 'pale' is better because if you are 'pale' in the summer, you're also HEALTHIER by far.

Tangoed, but really pale. Nothing sexier then really defined tan lines. A person that is realy taned, but when they take their clothes off it still looks like they have white underware on!

I like a happy medium. I'm pale but not sickly pale. Tanning hurts your skin and causes wrinkles. Too tanned is cheap.

Neither is very healthy. But I would go with the tanned. I can do pale just as easy though.
