I'm going to a pageant next month and on Sunday morning of the pageant, we are required to have a skit prepared (we're split into groups of approximately 15) and I have no ideas for what skit to do! Please help! I'd like it to be meaningful, but also humorous, and short.

Two sets of people coming from opposite directions on a tight rope. They both want to get their way first. The leaders of the groups should be the farthest stage right and stage left. Everything each leader says must be passed down the whole line to the other leader with errors and missed or added words long the way.

That's your sketch, you need to get the first sentence of straight dialogue then tell the cast to improv.

we did this as a church skit once. Its called jumping.
One person starts..mimes being about to drop of from the "bridge" b/c he/she is a reporter and cannot find a story to write. The Second person stops them and discovers this reason..then gives their own sad story and agrees to jump with him/her.. continue in like fashion..all fifteen to jump in the end, for ridiculous reason (fell over and showed hiney at a party, lost their car keys..senseless stuff).
in the end all but the reporter jumps...he/she walks off with a notepad laughing and saying "got me a story now..."
the reasons should be as ridiculous and frivolous as possible...thus providing humor. this also allows for physical acting. the "reasons" can be easily impoved.
the moral? We put too much importance on simple things.

Try writing your own. That way everyone gets a part and you get to do exactly what you want.
