Now that I've just become divorced for the second time and my new girlfriend has decided she prefers her own girlfriends and my last ex wife has kept the dog and my pick-up truck has just blown a gasket, I think I'll turn to drink. Bring on the music.

Lets think of what Country and Western music has given the world…
a) Dolly Parton
b) Line dancing
c) A breeding ground for white supremacists and the Christian identity movement
d) Morons walking around dressed as cowboys 140 years after the American civil war
Erm… no that’s all I can think of, anything redeeming in that list?
No I didn’t think so.

Michael W soooo deserves to get best answer! LOL
If I'd got a dead dog and a couple of ex-wives and a big old truck I'd love it too!!
PS If you want a slightly serious answer, then the only redeeming feature it has is that Dolly is a song writing legend. God bless Ms Parton - she really is fabbo.

Gawd, have you ever taken the time to listen to the greats? Listen to Loretta Lynn's Van Lear Rose or her older ones with Conway Twitty. Her Rated X song was banned. Great, amazing song writing. Same with Dolly Parton as well. You know, many modern acts have been heavily influenced by country music. Look at Kid Rock, Bob Seger.
Man, you're missing out.

Yuck! I liked it when Garth Brooks first became popular in 1991-ish. I listened to it for a year.

You gotta know when to hold'em, know when to fold'em, know when to walk away, know when to run.
You never count your money, when you're sittin' at the table. there'll be time enough for countin' when the deal is done.
or how about,
Cigarettes and whiskey and wild wild women, they'll drive you crazy they'll drive you insane.
I love country!!
