try not to let them get to you... if you are easily annoyed then you or your friends can become a bigger target.

know that some of these jerks will never be "cooler" than they are right now and might not amoung to much. Stay focused on your goals and take strength from being around friends. around some friends you can still be a goof and not have to worry about jerks.

there are always small ways to stand up to bullies without creating enemies some people will be able to have friends across different cliques and others will be jerks because someone is or isnt in a certain clique. (or they want to try to get into a certain click)

occasional bravery will get you respect from peers and even some of the older students. do your best to have friends and allies across the board and do what you can to create an environment among friends where certain lines should not be crossed. some friends will have a mixture of bonding and being jerks to each other. sometimes the better friends you are the worse insults you can throw at each other. the entire ability to show wit and respond to insults without getting upset may deflect some problems. laugh at things like they were not intended to be personal ..... be willing to take it in stride.

among friends the worse ethnic, your momma jokes, sexual orientation jokes, fat jokes all thrive in your basic high school. it doesnt seem pc and maybe you can cut some of it out-but dont get angered or suprised by any of it. stay confident or fake it- you will have your own little niche by junior year. by junior or sophmore year you can try more about stopping bullies. first just help yourself and closest friend from making yourself targets.

High school can be a real pain sometimes, this coming from my own personal experience. The only way to making it worse is by retaliating, getting back at them. If it gets really bad, to the point where it's a daily issue, seek out help from a parent or a teacher. They can really help you with this sort of thing. But if it' s nothing more than teasing, just ignore it. Both of you will eventually get over it.
