They played that song on ESPN the year after Boston won the World Series, and I can't remember who wrote it. I'm pretty sure its from the 80's.

The only thing I can think of is It's Not Over by Daughtry but it's not from the 80's.

It's Daughtry. Not a remake, an original from them. I got to hear it live last night....it was pretty great. Chris is so hot in person, plus it was free....it's great living where the band is from.
