I have the definition but need an example. Would you say that this would be correct: We believe that marriage is between a man and a woman, but in reality there are same-sex marriage. Ideal culture and real culture differ in everyday life. Another way to look at the difference: is ideal culture is what the values say we believe in, what we should practice, while real culture is what actually exists. In most cultures, differences exist between what people are supposed to do and what they actually do.
