I'd say around ~200 hp will make it a thrill to drive, but the suspension and handling are going to also play a part in how much fun it is to drive also.

There are a few things to consider with this question. Firstly, horsepower is effectively felt at higher speeds, since numerous vehicles make peak power near redline. What is felt from low speed acceleration is the torque of a car. However, more important than the power of the motor is the one behind the wheel. Also to consider are the driving characteristics of various automobiles. Ideally, in that weight range of cars, 200+ horsepower will suffice for some fun. Hope this helps!

That's like asking is a 2 stroke engine good? Short answer, yes. Not for racing, but for everyday use, decent. Longer answer, depends. Horsepower is a measure of energy output of an engine, not speed. You don't want to hear about size of the car, but if horsepower relates to energy output and kinetic energy relates to mass, then the mass of the car will have to relate to it's available energy output. On top of that, there's the question of how well the transmission will transfer that energy. Generally speaking, those 200 hp you're talking about is peak power. You're not usually going to use all 200 horses. But in general terms, the higher the horsepower, the higher a car can potentially go... if it's built for speed.

That will depend on you. I would think 250 on up will be more than enough to suffice. But once you go fast, then you want to go faster, so who knows.
Go ahead and get a Viper or a Shelby GT500 or a C-6 Vette, then you should be coevered for a while until you want to go faster again. LOL

About 180HP. You don't need much more. Most high HP engines never see the maxim output.
