Mine just told me her sister punched her in the face. I said "Your face doesn't look punched." She said "She ripped up my book." I said "She's a baby, put your stuff away." The she said "She spent all your money."
LOL
Like I didn't know that...

I kind of doubt my baby punched her sister in the face. I think it was more a 3 year old exhaggeration of a slap fight that probably occurred when she tried to take something away from her sister. I'm a mother. We have ways of knowing stuff like this.

Funny.
Mine don't, I tell them I'm not going to listen to it, I want them to stick up for each other when they get older.

Cute story, it sounds to me like your girls are still little.
Mine are adolescents. I suggest you figure out a way to prevent them from fighting with each other to earn your attention, or you're going to have adolescents punching each other in the face.
She may be a baby, but she's not too young to learn that it's wrong to hit each other.
As for the tattling. Barbara Coloroso a well-known child psychologist suggests making children tattle ONLY when it will get another child out of trouble, rather than into trouble. It helps eliminate the tattling.

My 2 girls are aful when it comes to tattling.! It is driving me crazy. I finally told them if that is all they are going to say to me, I don;t want to listen. It has actually helped. They know not to talk to me about, and the good thing is they are actually trying to work things out themselves a little more since I won't hear the tattling

when my son went thru the tattle stage he was attending a really super daycare and what they would do is have the repeat tattle tales wear a tail on their behinds(made out of construction paper..looked like a beaver tail) it really seemed to help. it'll pass though..good luck

Mine are 20, 18, and 14. When they were littler, one would tattle on the other with something like "James hit me" and I would ask "Are you dead?" He'd say no, then I'd say, "You're fine".

haha...my boys do and they are 4 & 9
When my sister and I would fight when we were young my Dad would say "I'm gonna lock you 2 in a room and the one who comes out alive is the winner!"
That would usually stop the tattling......
