I deleted my question due to some jerk telling me I'm the proud parent of a AIDS virus spreading son. I really wanted to show my son your answers so he could have a neutral point of view on this problem he's having. Unfortunately, this rude person had to ruin this. I have contacted our local PFLAG group and asked for their input on my son's situation. I just wanted to thank those who gave me mature answers. My son does trust me even though we have to check on what he's doing. He even wanted me to go with him on his doctor's appointment, but he cancelled it. Thanks again.

I'm so sorry that your were treated badly on this site. There are always people who don't consider the feelings of the person asking the question and so the answer becomes simply ridiculous.

As I was trying to submit my answer (quite lengthy at the time) to you .... your question was deleted! I wondered what had happened.

Basically, I was saying that you need to take a step back ... and let your son live his life without giving up on him. Any communication you have with him should always be from your heart. The issue is not that he is gay but that he is living a very "promiscuous" lifestyle which is dangerous to his health. Keep on communicating to him the importance of safe sex and seeing a doctor for any diseases .... and get treatment for any STD's he can be treated for.

Hopefully your son, will soon see the light and find all the qualities that I'm sure you have instilled in him as a child. Don't stop loving him whatever you do .... but don't be held hostage by his behaviour either. Always remember that you have your 9 year old daughter to raise as well. Don't lose her in all the emotional involvement with your son. It may be time for your son to move out of the house and be busy supporting himself .... then he wouldn't have as much time to think about and actively be out there living the wild life!

Within the next couple of years I'm sure he will mature enough to see that you are only concerned for his well being! The old adage is "live and learn" but you may remind him that with the lifestyle he has chosen to live (promiscuity) it could be a matter of "live it up and die"!

I wish you patience, luck communicating with your son, and perseverance. My heart goes out to you! Parenting isn't easy ....

I'm fairly no longer certain what your query is... No, you're no longer 'soiled laundry' - you're a sane, fair sounding man or woman. If your sister likes women then cool beans, she likes women. You do not ought to conceal or be ashamed for no longer believing in fairytales or assisting discrimination. Of direction it hurts to listen to you possess mom say matters like that, however she does not precisely sound like any one who can also be reasoned with, as a result the complete Uber-Christian factor. It feels like a crappy inspiration, however you are frequently nice simply no longer speakme to her approximately it. Tell her what you consider, depart it at that and forget about the relaxation. Although truthfully studying the Bible might furnish you with a few laughs. Maybe you might write her a record on the entire instances the 'well men' within the bible sinned.

Hi there, 2Beagles. First of all, I wish I could give you a hug for being so supportive and understanding of your son. I only wish that I had a mother like you! As for the ignorant, toothless, inbred homophobes who have tried to incercept your lovely message, it is they and only they who are unhappy. You have a son who loves you, and that is all that matters. I truly congratulate you on being a parent with a very big heart...my parents could really learn from you.

Karma can come and bite you in the a** anytime without notice. And to the parent who wrote this entreaty--you and your son are in my thoughts and just be there for him. Many moms wouldn't go the lengths that you are already journey down--chin up, sister you are going to make it!

Even though I didn't answer your initial question, I would like to offer you my personal condolences in that you had to put up with these pathetic little people. Some people just have nothing better to do with their meaningless little lives than try to rattle another's cage. Don't let them get ya down though; for every idiot here, there are 20 others who are kind and willing to help you = )
