When God created Adam, he told him to rule over the lands and the creatures of the earth. This means that since the beginning of human kind we have had the responsibility of ruling over and taking care of all animals. In short, no, animals should not have the same rights as humans.

I think that animals should have rights to go in stores...etc.. I mean we are animals as well...So when people think of them as better then animals they aren't because animals are much more cleaner then people so that is why I would like if animals had the same rights as people...I &hearts' Animals!!!!

Pets: The right to be fed and nurtured and to live in a clean environment and to be kept healthy. The only right they shouldn't have is to own us.
Wild animals: They are a different story.

Hmm...like free speech and the right to a lawyer? Maybe not in that sense, but there should be better enforced laws preventing animal cruelty.

I believe they are entitled to some rights that we as humans have. That's why we have animal cruelty laws. Its funny how animal rights activists only care about cute animals.

How ridiculuous. Animals are not the same as humans; they were not created in God's image. They are here for us. We are obligated to treat them kindly and not kill them except when necessary (out of protection or for food, for example.) If animals were endowed with the same rights as us, then they could own property, kill humans in self-defense, and go to public school.

well, they shouldnt be able to drive and things like that! but something should be done if they are being abused and whatnot just like a human. if a person abuses a human i believe that the punishment for abusing an animal shouldnt be that less harsh.

What would they do? Vote for president? Protest about animal rights? Overthrow all spading laws?

see it like this :
humans and animals: both have hearts , breath , eat , sleep , play , get a bath{some} well you get the idea
only difference: level of intelligence which couldnt really be a problem since some ppl are dumber than a rat ***

so yeah they should be crossing the street to your side too!

no thier animals not people. don't get me wrong they should not be mistreated or abused but they are not my equals and they should not have the same rights as if they were.
