i want to become a singer.?

hey . well im 16 yrs. old and i love to sing. the problem is i dont know how to get started. i've tried to write songs, and they dont come out very well, and i know i should make a demo before trying to contact any places. but like i just dont know what to do. well please give me some advice to help me fulfill my dreams. thanks.

try posting up a vid of you singing on youtube if youre good youre bound to get noticed; besides the record companies only want pretty faces/blank minds

your best bet is to go to school. if you are in high school, take music, learn to read music and take singing lessons. Start now to apply for a degree in music. The days of sending in a demo & becoming a star are over, you really do have to put in the work, and this will give you a solid foundation to start & contacts will be made as you go. It sounds hard, but you're 16, you have the time to put in the work now. BEST OF LUCK

You'd definitely need a demo, which can be recorded ( for a pretty pricey ) cost. My friend did an LP for his band, That cost 340 pounds sterling ( 700ish dollars )

+ Sorry for the expression, but you need balls of steel. It isn't like the movies, your gunna have to make yourself mentally ready for rejection. And at worst case scenario, get laughed at.

So don't go unprepared. For all you know, you could be the next new star... Don't let a couple of bad mouthed asses see right past you. Go back, get better, and make sure they realised there mistake ;)

I want to become a singer to, And I am 14 years old. I have been taking voice lesson's sence i was 10, I have got involved in a lot of choirs at school & church,& alot of people said I am a great singer,(and I do a few solo's)
If I were you, I would do voice lessons, get involved with chucrh/school, & keep perswaying your dream 2 become a singer. If that don't work try american idol or Amerca's got talent or somthing like that. (sometimes I record myself with software like American idol extream music creater) And try to sing ALOT.

Sing from ur heart,if u can't sing from what is on paper.Most people r like that.Record your demo at home,so you don't have to deal with the pressure of having people look at you in a studio.And if you do that u can do it on ur own time.Follow ur dreams and good luck.

I want to be a singer to. This is what I do:
1. I keep a notebook and write my songs in it. If I don't like a song in there, I tear it out.
2. I am usually shy to sing in front of crowds so I pretend that they are not there.( or they're DELICIOUSLY JUCY watermelons!!)
3. When my parents are out, I put on fabulus clothes, and make-up! Ta-Da! a singer! ( to make a demo C.D. use your video cam and instead, make a music video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
