Make sure you setup groups, enable the block list, and hit apply. Make sure the sites are not in the Trusted list and not HTTPS sites.

customer grade routers have not got a build in firewall, in assessment to what all and sundry else in this subject rely claims. distributors would desire to declare that their routers incorporate a build in firewall, yet that may not something extra advantageous than NAT and not a real firewall. Firewalls additionally do not block viruses, as one individual claimed. Firewalls block ports, amenities, et cetera. case in point FTP community site visitors is going over port 21 via default. A firewall would desire to dam all community site visitors on port 21, it would desire to dam purely specific IP addresses or IP stages case in point, it would desire to accomplish DPI on the packets and purely block those packets which do not qualify as FTP site visitors, et cetera. that's what a firewall does, it enables community packets to pass with the aid of or it blocks them, all in line with specific policies set up in the firewall. customer grade routers have not got such stepped forward function. Many distributors consult from NAT as a firewall, yet technically that may not maximum appropriate. for a common consumer nonetheless NAT is extra advantageous than adequate. NAT purely forwards ports in line with policies. As for blocking off on foundation of an internet site call or a key-word, this would nicely be a parental administration placing which has not something to do with firewalls or NAT. content filtering is a factor of many routers.
