"macs can do more"
SOOOOOO not true. both can do the same things, just PCs require a little bit more experience on the users part (PC's can even get virus's)
If you are an average PC user (check email, surf web) then you might as well get a mac
if you are a hardcore gamer, pc is basically your only option.
if you want a computer that you can customize to fit your own personal situation without exposed cords, then get a pc.
by this I mean, as soon as you plug a cord from a printer into a mac, you can see the cord, but with a pc,you can easily hid the cord.
if you want to watch tv on your computer, pc. pcs are the only computer that can contain an internal tv card, maybe a power mac, but then you lose the "looks" agument
my point-which computer is better is totally dependant on your personal situtation, what you want to use the computer for. I personally have both, and enjoy using them both. Mac can be less headaches, but my pc is overall more compatible and parts are easier to replace (if my macs hardrive dies, i don't know what I would do to replace it, if my pcs hardrive dies, then all I have to do is go out and buy a new, pop the case open and stick it in).
sorry, I really meant to end it there, but i had to keep going.
the point- find the pros and cons of each, then decide which one is best for you.

You need to weigh the pros and cons. PCs have more software made for them and the parts are cheaper. They require more maintenance and get viruses easier. MACs are faster and less vulnerable to viruses. They are more expensive and are selective in the software that they run. I use both, I have PCs and Macs. I like them both, but I do find myself using the PC more than the MAC.

If you can afford it, get a Mac. They're much more reliable than PCs and much easier to upgrade. The only thing you really need a PC for is serious gaming. We have one of each - the Mac has never crashed, frozen, 'lost' things, broken down and a complete amateur (me) could give it more RAM. The PC has needed some serious tlc and has been recently replaced while the Mac is now nearly 5 years old and still going strong. And we don't have to worry about keeping anti-virus software or spyware detectors up to date on the Mac.
OK, so the Mac needs more specialist software whereas everyone does a free version of stuff for PCs. Some things (like mobiles, and minidisc players until recently) come with software that'll only work with PCs but it's still worth it.

I would say PC's are the best. Mac's are real cool but I would a pick a PC over a Mac any day.

I started off pc and have converted to mac. Mac is easier to use and less tinkering. With a pc you have to add this part and that part. Macs don't. They are easier to move around and take up less space (imac) I have had the mac I am talking to you on for over 5 years. In that time, my friend has replace almost every major part on her computer (Dell). Not me. Plug and play. If you want pc programs to run, all you have to do is get Softwindows or a similar program for less than $100. I love my Mac(s)! I own 3. Would never go back.

Pc, obviously. Why else would they put the windows operating system on a lot of the MACs? That must mean PC's are better

Mac's operating system just makes more sense! And they are better for the everyday programs for music, movies and such. But when you get a Mac, you don't have to give up Windows anymore...you can operate both systems.
Sure they are pricey, but their hardware is pure quality.
There is no reason to NOT get a Mac!

Mac because if you get a PC with Windows Vista none of the programs that people have on XP have been re-written for Vista. To much reconfiguring
