there is a SLIGHT chance that it is a penny printed on a blank that was meant for a dime. If so, and you can get it authenicated, it will go for $500-$1500
here is an example that sold for $920

There were no zinc or silver pennies made in 1941 .
There was a zinc plated steel cent made in 1943 .
The mint did not make pennies in silver at all except a very rare silver plug cent in 1792.
The 1943 cents that are circulated won`t bring much money because of the high mintage .Uncirculated pieces in Certified mint state 67 and above will bring a $100.00 or more .

You have a coin that has been changed after it left the mint. In 1941 we didn't get into the war until Dec.7, so no one knew at the time, they would need more copper for shell casings. The idea of the zinc cents came about in 1942 but not Early in the year. Reading a little on it, it looks like the zinc cents were not made until already into the year 1943. There has never been a solid silver U.S. cent. There was a silver center large cent pattern but that is it.

Steelies (zinc plated steel) pennies were only minted in 1943, so not sure what you have.
If it is a1943 steel penny it is only worth $.75 maximum.

Its probably a steel penny. Steel was used for pennies during WWII. Check acoin dealer for worth (I think they have a small value, but worth checking out)
