What is the best allergy medicine that DOESN'T make me fall asleep??

I have taken Claritin and Clarinex. None of them work at all.
And I do NOT want to take Benadryl. That stuff knocks you out.

Someone please help. I'm dying here!!

It depends what you are allergic to (or if you even know what you are allergic to). I eventually discovered that I am allergic to grass pollen (typically Labor Day weekend through 4th of July). Since I discovered NasalCrom, that is usually all I need. It is some sort of buffer that just makes you not react so much to allergies, but is not really a medicine. So if the pollen gets really bad, or starts before you have a chance to start using NasalCrom to build up resistance, you can still take Benadryl or other allergy medications. If I didn't do anything during my allergy season, I get sneezy, stuffy nose, dry gritty itchy eyes (due to swollen blood vessels that make my eyes look like roadmaps). So I definitely know it helps me.

You poor thing...Claritan won't work unless you get the one w/ decongestant. (Cariton D), the pharmacist keeps it in the pharmacy, not on the shelf. If that doesn't do it for you, then try Simply Saline for allergy's. It will rinse out your sinus cavities, and will help you feel better....

Claritin is the WORST! Try Zyretec...so you don't have to get rid of Ruffus! And Nasonex.
