What is the best font for writing a book?

There isn't really a standard, although there are some fonts that are used more than others. Good books will tell you what font is used, like Goudy old style or whatever somewhere within the pages of the book (front or back).

Most book companies use standard fonts like arial, helvetica, times, times new roman, and century. since 99% of any publishing company has them already and they are computer standard fonts.

something plain and very easy to read like helvetica or minion.
