"the service promise", the "guest connection", the "feel special". I work on these points every day and pour my heart into my job. Yesterday I worked 7 and 1/2 hours straight and at the end of the day I was written up for not using the word promise to a table. Doesn't matter if I made the happy or not, they had great service, but I didn't use the word "promise" . This job is just nuts, any others agree?

Yeah that kinda sucks. I would never work that long straight through! I can't do it! I too work at a RL, and I have never gotten written up for not saying it, and I hardly ever do say it. I think it sounds stupid! I would say when there is a manager around, say it, otherwise skip it. There are certain managers that would write me up for it and ones that wouldn't.

I'm not going crazy because of those things. They are completely stupid rules, and some of them make us sound ridiculous. Our GM's big thing is "lead with fresh" and freaking out about mentioning lobsterfest!

If you're unhappy with your job there, i would say find another one, or try and make it work out somehow. Good luck!

I worked at Red Lobster a long time ago and some of their rules and regulations are a bit extreme.
I left that job and went into the telemarketing field which taught me a lot and led into very lucrative areas of business.
I would try to search for another job that is going to make you happy.
