Question for immigrants - if you were born in 1 country but lived in another country for, say, half your life and are integrated in both countries, suppose that war broke out between these 2 countries... which side would you choose & why ?

Also what is your country of birth & residence & how long haveyou lived there ?

You assume people will feel obligated to take one side or the other. Obviously, because I live in America and would trust my safety here better, I would stay here. But, I do not support war for any reason, so I would hope the two countries could reach a compromise with few casualties as quickly as possible. I would be a conscienscious objector if drafted and I'm sure the government would understand my situation.

From Germany, lived in U.S. for 18 years (almost my entire life).

I was born in Sweden and currently reside in the US. I have been here over half my life now. Considering Sweden is a neutral country, I guess I'd be a bit annoyed at the US for picking a fight.

I'd go to Sweden and help defend it from any aggressor. If you can get in a fight with Sweden, you are definitely the aggressor, no matter what country you may be!

Should war break out between the country i am from and the Uk i suppose i will have to be thankful that Poms have put up with me and took care of me. But i will be torn between the two . AAAhhh i will stick up for the Poms they need all the help they can get :))

i live in britian all my life but my parents from iraq, there is war in my country partly fought by british support. however i dont support any war, no matter for what means. so i dont support the war in iraq however neither would i support any war, its unjust.
martin luther king is example of peacful campaign, he said 'darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that'.
