why not form your own system by like a major gay political group or rights activists. Start your own marrage system for gays. You may not be married by the government you don't agree with but in the eyes of all gays and straights you will basically be married. Start taking control of your own life and system. And the good thing is you could divorce very easily.

I'm not really answering your question - but I've been wondering the same thing as you. I thought i was the only one to think like this but happy to find out that I'm not. I mean the fact that there is a debate! I mean who the hell are they to tell us who we can and can't marry? Its not their problem. What pisses me off the most is that fact straight people are asked for their opinions and a verdict is reached using that with other things. Again, who the hell are straight people to even have a say (whether they are against us or for us isn't the point). Some things in this world is just plain crap. Even if gay marriage is allowed, I'll still be annoyed at the fact that a debate had to take place and people - who had no business in this section had a say in this!!!!!!!!!!!!! HA-Ha sorry dude, didn't mean to mess up your question.

As far as I can tell, I AM married in the eyes of the gays. But that and 3 dollars will get me a cup of coffee at Starbucks. But what I need is to be LEGALLY married in the eyes of the government. I need the rights and protections given to non-gays who are married. And THAT is what equality is all about!

Because it's the government that issues the piece of paper that gets signed by the person performing the ceremony and then filed with said government. Then the whole world knows that two people are wed and have a myriad of rights and responsibilities.

Because the medical institutions still only listen to the laws made by the government and would still ban us from seeing our partners in the hospital and other things like that.

Its getting married that's the problem its getting the health care benefits that's the problem. Its getting the gov. to recognize you as a couple that is the problem. I don't know why they would want to get married anyway. You can get more governmental help if your single.

Gay people need permission from the government, because we give them to much power,by not deciding things as a state, and needing the government to decide for us.
