Are you talking about literature from the Romantic period or romance novels? If you are looking for good work from the Romantic period, I highly recommend the American Romanticism books of Nathaniel Hawthorne. His short stories such as Rappuccini's Daughter, The Artist of the Beautiful, the Birthmark, Dr. Heidegger's Experiment and many of his other Scientific Romances. You will find them in his Twice Told Tales collection. Poe also wrote many Scientific Romances. If you are looking for romance novels, sorry I cant help you. I dont read anything with Fabio on the cover. Pax - C.

I don't know any books, but I can tell you a few plays: Romeo and Juliet by Shakespere, The Importance Of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde, and the musical AIDA. This answer was probably just a waste of time and I didn't help you much. Sorry!

Are you looking for something current? Or classical?

If you are looking for current, then may I suggest "The Wedding" by Nicholas Sparks.. it is a wonderful story that had me in tears at the end.
Also by Nicholas Sparks "The Notebook".

I wish I could be of more help with classical literature, but you could try anything by William Woodsworth, he was a wonderful British poet.

Happy Reading!
