The bus is my favourite way to get around, Cancun goes by zones for taxis, Zone's A - E, Buses are fast , frequent and efficient, carry lots of changed and let the driver know where you are going, Taxi fares in Cancun aren't cheap, if you flag a taxi down along the street the price will typically be a little better then those at your hotel or restaurant.
Agree on a price before getting in, but i'd use the buses

Taxi's are expensive in Cancun. the best way to get around is by bus. .$.65 for a bus ride in the hotel zone.

If you hire a taxi make sure you know what the fare will be before you go. Ask first, what the fare is, If the currency you are using is $$$ or if you are using pesos.

Taxi's are expensive, do make sure you get a rate prior.....buses rule!
