PLEASE help identify this movie???

Question

I saw this on TV over 10 years ago, it was probably made in the early 90s. It is about a teenage boy in a gang who have this sick game where they go around stabbing people, and they get points for how many times they stab the person. The game was called something like 'dungeons and dragons'. The boy is so into this game that he ends up stabbing his mum loads of times just to get points. The mum crawls to the phone and tries to ring the ambulance. Then the film returns to the present day where the boy has just been let out of prison and they are having a family barbecue. Sorry that's all i remember! Any help would be much appreciated!

By the way, i am very aware that subject matter of the film is HORRIFIC. That is why i said it was a 'sick game'. But it has been bugging me for some years and i want to know the title!

Dungeons and dragons?

That's a board + now Online game for which nerds are known to play... I doubt it would do anything to do with that xD

That is awful! I used to play D&D and we never transferred that to real life. It was more fun to have the fantasy world and use your imagination. Why would you EVER want to remember that horrible sounding movie?
