I have tried to live my life in a way that is pleasing to God. I know the scriptures speak against being gay, and I have been taught the Bible is the undefiled word of God. but for years (30+) I have been tormented by gay tendencies. I can't seem to escape it. What am I to do? Is there hope for a deliverence from this, and if so, how much longer to I wait? What are some steps that I can take in order to be a happy satisfied heterosexual?

you can't change who you are. God made you this way, that's why he's not letting you change. if you change, you'll never be happy because you'll be PRETENDING to be something that you're not. God loves you, he doesn't care if youre gay or straight. The only person who has ever wanted you to change was the church, hun, the church is filled with people. when you go to church you are listening to people. Try listening to God. Who do you think will make it to heaven, a homophobic christian who thinks that they are perfect and try to change everyone into the person that they think is right. They dont let God judge people, they try to do it for him. They tell you that it is a sin to love (God would never say that love is a sin) and they tell you that you are going to hell. Do you really think that God wants someone filled with so much hate and ignorance to be living at his side? Or does he want a person that doesn't care that they are different, that doesnt try to change themselves and worships his God at the same time?

Oh you poor, poor dear, you are as the universe made you. I f the Bible is the undefiled word of God. Why don't the people who believe this sell all they have and give it to the poor. Get circumcised, and keep Jewish dietary laws. The Bible is not to betaken as the unexpurgated word of G-d. It is a collection of culturally bound documents containing many elements some are beautiful like the Sermon on the Mount and some are horrific like requirement to stone adulterers
Being gay or straight is not sinful as long as the relationship is loving and equal.

Everyone thinks they know the mind of God...

I can't help but wonder why God would place a biological errogenous zone in your body and say "bad, bad, naughty, naughty, don't touch." Exploring every pore of a woman's body is beautiful. Why not a mans? Just be honest.

So long as you are choosing people that choose you back, and they are old enough to make a decision like that, my only recommendation is that you use protection. Being masculine and all, many of my gay friends aren't the 'lifetime partner' type.

Live well~

If homosexuality is a sin, than why would god make you gay?....

he loves you, and there is nothing wrong with being gay.... god made you that way, and he accepts you.... The bible is not the true word of god... just humans who were full of crap!!

Just try to enjoy your life, and be happy!!
Life is too short to be sad all the time!

You are not tormented by gay tendencies. You are tormented by religious brainwashing.

It is quite possible to live a decent, fulfilled and worthwhile life as a homosexual. Unfortunately people have lied to you from a young age that it isn't.

Dude, Jesus himself in the New Testament in the Christian Bible condemns divorce, yet plenty of Christians happily divorce and remarry.

Reread Leviticus 14 to 20, an easy quick read.
The God of the Old Testament seems to have many many proscriptions, alot of them youll find is surprising

As for Paul, who the hell was Paul, he's not Christ. Why should his words matter at all, ignore the Paulians, you are a Christian. Read your Christ's words only, his message was one of love and acceptance

Hi there, Blake. Your words make my heart ache for you, as I can tell how much you've suffered through this. Believe me when I tell you that there is absolutely nothing wrong with you, and I am truly sorry that you've felt the need to suppress who you are. No one can change or suppress their sexual orientation. It's impossible -- like changing your skin tone. My wish for you is that you can one day accept who you are and find out what true happiness really is. Happiness to me is the ability to live my life freely and love whom my heart tells me to love. Once you let your heart decide what's right for you, you'll be amazed at how much your life will change. Good luck to you, Blake, and please remember that your sexual orientation is a gift, not a curse. True love is beautiful in any way, shape or form.

Due to our imperfect condition, we are prone to sinful ways. Homosexuality is just one of those things, as well as drug addictions, personality problems, etc. God knows that you are struggling, but to hang in there. There are also scriptures that recommend you stay out of situations that will tempt you to slip. In the end, all conditions will be cured after Armageddon.

you can't escape it because it's not sinful. I'm not gay, but one of my best friends is a lesbian and she had the same problem accepting her sexuality as she comes from a Muslim family that looks down upon homosexuality. as hard as she tried to ignore it, it doesn't go away. you just have to be yourself. please don't try to change your sexual orientation, it can be really harmful and you might make decisions that you come to regret later.

Take a look at the link below. Hopefully it'll reassure you that you don't have to change your sexual orientation to be loved and accepted by God.
