I have taken the ACT with and without writing. Say for instance I made a 17 Composite score, but with the writing I made a 21. Is the 21 my English writing score or is it my whole ACT score. I will call the ACT people when I get a chance, but for now any help will be appreciated!

The 21 is your whole ACT score... it's out of 36 with the writing. Usually, when you get the score report thing, they break it up into the four parts, and the average of all of them (incl. writing) makes up the composite, or the 21. You may have also gotten a 21 on just the writing... check the sheet with your scores on it.
