It's ridiculous and, No the marriages won't last.
Think about whom you thought you were in love with when you were 15 or 16...
Are you still "in love" with him, or have you grown up a lot and moved on?
That's what will happen to these couples and to glamorize getting married when you should be thinking about the prom is just sick in my opinion.
Peace

It depends on the maturity and how committed the people involved are. I wouldn't write their marriage off as doomed just because they're young especially when people who get married in their late 20s early 30s get married for only a year or a few months. I'll be getting married this summer and I'm not 20 yet, but I know we'll last because we've talked about everything and we're completely committed. We're not going to run for a divorce at the slightest problem. Regardless of age, if two people are really in love and actually listen to their vows and work through hardships I think they can last so age has nothing to do with it.

Age has nothing to do with it. I am 20 years old, and I've been engaged since I was 18. I think they will last if they aren't lazy, and they are willing to work hard at their relationships. The problem with marriage in our society is that everyone wants instant gratification. They want all the perks with none of the work, we are a McDonald's society, and this is why many relationships just don't last. I think it could be harder when you're younger, just because you don't have the same experience as someone who is a little older. But my parents started dating when they were 14, got married when they were 19 (and not because of pregnancy, they didn't have me until they were 27) and they've been together ever since. It all depends on the people.

i think it all depends on the maturity of the couple honestly. but in our culture today i think it's hard to make a marriage last when you get married young. but then look at 2 generations ago it was commonplace to get married at 16. i am 23 and I think I am ready to get married, but I have been with the same person for almost 5 years so that has alot to do with it.

i was married at 22...and it only last 8months. the people on that show getting married are 18-23 they are WAY to young, they haven't even experienced life. i don't think any of them will last. there was the one with the couple who had 2 kids, they have potential. but the show is kinda like bridezilla. them girls on there are selfish and need to grow up if they are gonna act like that, cuz they grooms family wants to be involved or something dont go how they want....TYPICAL MTV SHOW-all reality tv....
