i got a new phone like a month ago, its the nextel from sprint phone. and when i go to call my number to set up my voicemail, it says "sorry, your number ******* is not a recognized mail box, please try again later" and then it hangs up on me... its soo annoying. i cant make a voice mail or get messages, nor can people leave voicemail messages...
does anyone know what i need to do????
oh and i already called nextel but that was no help AT ALL :(

Simple answer is that you need to be transferred to a tier II rep. They need to reset your voice mail. (I've done that before where they wipe your voice mail and reset it) It wasn't properly set up the first time. Call from a land line and have them walk you through setting it up. Call now and find out what the deal is also I wish that Nextel had tech support online. Which they don't. Power cycle won't work since its the voicemail which is sort of the software not hardware. But call Nextel and have them reset your entire voicemail system.

LEAVE NEXTEL AND GO TO CINGULAR! thats exacly what i had to do cingular gave me too many problems to deal with but not cingular cingurlar is the best phone place ever and they even help me if somethings wrong with my phone. plus cingular has way better phones than nextel. only thing bad is that they don't have walkie talkies.
