I've read about the game, but it's not the same as someone sitting down and teaching it to you. So can someone help me learn how to play?

The best place to get a teaching game online is on Kiseido Go Server (theres also a free 9x9 version available for download that's good for beginners). Feel free to look me up there and I'll be glad to give a lesson or two (I'm maxdwolf there and just about everywhere). Start of with small 9x9 boards until you understand the game some.

If you can find a club in your area, in person is often an even more fun way to learn. Check the American Go Association for that (provided that you live in the US of course).

Oh i love go. I can play but i cant teach you. I can recommend that you go to yahoo games and play go online. If you are lucky and you probably will be because of the amount of kind people on yahoo i bet that you can find a person willing to teach you through actualy game experience.
