on myspace there was this picture; and the girl had a heart on her lower stomach, that was lighter than her skin color. It was not a tan thingy either. I want to know what it is, b/c it looks pretty.

Dunno why you asked about branding... Chances are much better it was a white ink tattoo. Do a lot of research before getting one, because they're not easy to ink so they'll stay looking even, and a lot harder to make last than regular tats.

Are you sure that she did not use a sicker when she was tanning so that the area of skin that was covered could be lighter than the rest of her skin?

You can get something branded on you. People in Fraternity's get branded all the time. However, it might be burning.
