Wear the dress. Show off your legs...Jeans are fine for casual activities, but when you are dancing it is much more fun to wear a dress. You look more feminine, you have a bit more class, and it is always fun to dress up nicely! Go for the dress!

I'd say the dress, but if you think you'll be uncomfortable or feel out of the sort then you could wear a really nice shirt and jeans. Maybe even a cute skirt with a cute shirt. But in my opinion for a gala id say the dress.

If it is a "gala" the "little dress" is appropriate. Fancy/casual usually means a dress but not like a prom or cotillion dress.

If you going to a gala, then it suggests that you need to semi-formally dressed, so I would go with the dress.

hmm a gala?! fancy and casual gala..then wear jeans and a very nice top.. the top has to be really nice.. wear wedges/heels or nice flats to go along with it
