.........the world thinks about things, that many people would thank you for sharing it, but that others would want to cause you serious harm for revealing the secret? Would you still put it out there? And if you did, how would you protect yourself from the haters that are feeding off the weak, who will want to come after you for disturbing their setup?

I think that's something almost every great person has had to do, to some extent at least. There aren't many great things that have come about without persecution. Would I do that? Hopefully. As far as protecting yourself, the law is about the only thing as far as physical protection, but to be honest I think you would have to be willing to make that sacrifice--to be willing to be persecuted, to stand by what you said no matter what. I guess the only protection that can come that way is your own knowledge, firmness, and resolve--and your ability to not let what others say to get to you. There's a quote I like about that, though I don't know who its by: "All the waters in all the world, no matter how hard they tried, could never sink the smallest ship, unless they got inside."

Isn't that what happened to Galileo?

I'd tell. But then again, I never shut up. I even talk in my sleep, so it would come out eventually, one way or the other.

Considering everyone in my household is ex- or current military, I don't think 'protection' would be an issue.
