i have a honda civic type r 2 litre car

my tax is up on june 30th 2007

is the new rate 300 from apr 07 ?

if so if i buy 12 months road tax on 29th mar 2007

i am paying for apr may and jun twice but still saving

paid about 15 per moth so paid about 45 for the next 3 months but if i pay again for 12 months i will only pay 190 odd quid but pover paid 45 quid but still saving 110 as new price is 300 do you see what im trying to do

my question is is this possible will they allow me to do this or have i got the wrong end of the stick

your opinions will be much welcomed

mine was due end of march and because of the news saying i'd be clobbered £400 i taxed it the morning of the budget at the old price however a friend tried the same thing in the afternoon and had to pay the new rate so it seems a good idea to retax on the morning of the budget. when it goes up next year you can surrender what tax you have left get a refund then retax for 12months so avoiding the increase for another year

You're making me panic now - I though it had gone up to £200 not £300.
I don't believe it is possible to renew your tax so far in advance. I think it is something like 2 weeks before the tax is due for renewal.

Your tax never went upto £300 cause your type R is a clean efficient engine. Mine went up to £300 though cause its a not so clean, but it is very fast so worth the extra.

Your car tax will be £205, not £300. It's group F not G.
