Does anyone remember the kids show?

Question

called the "New Zoo Review"? It had a man called Doug, woman and a hippo, a frog and some other stuff. My mother says she doesn't remember, but I know I used to watch it all of the time.

yes i remember it well, it was in September 1972 and i use to watch it all the time my favorites were Henrietta the Hippo, Freddie the Frog, and Mr Goodbody, there were also Mr Bigwig, Charlie the Owl, Mr Dangle, Doug........It was quite a show. Loved the one where Prof. Gordon explains the miracle of birth.

Yeah! I loved that show! I was 7 or 8 years old and used to get up to watch it before school. It was on at like 6 am. I think Doug and Emmy Jo were teachers, Henrietta Hippo was a dainty southern belle, Freddie the frog acted like a little kid, and Charlie the owl was Mr. serious. There was also Mr. Dingle the mailman, and Mrs. Goodbody who lived next door. They used to get into trouble, learn valuable lessons and sing silly songs. It was great.

I'm older than u...and when I was young it was Sesame Street or Sesame Street or Sesame Street and sometimes Commander Tom. We had such a selection, Captin Kangaroo was from another planet, Mister Rogers was fashion challenged, and Mister Dressup well I'm not going to say. When my daughters were young I had to perservere thru many episodes of Barney a day. I was also responsible for rewinding them. Sorry I don't ever recall watching new zoo review, but the name rings a bell. I only have one question ....in your question you single out a women and a hippo.....what kind of relationship did they have?lol

Yeah, Emmy JO, Henrietta the hippo and Charlie the owl. This show was like a mild acid trip. Seems like alot of hippies were making shows back then, haha. But, I remember it, for what it's worth.

I loved that show when i was a kid!! Freddie Frog and Henrietta Hippo! Wow, I thought me and a friend of mine were the only people in the world who knew about that show.

Used to be my fave show in the 70's.

I can remember the tune a little.

"It's the new zoo review, to come and play with you" or something like that.

I somewhat remember that show. They sang songs, and had little skits. It was kind of like Barney before there was Barney.
