In the USA and 9 provinces in Canada you need a Doctoral Degree in Psychology, a Psy.D. or a EdD in Educational Psychology. But in the province of Alberta you can still license with a Master of Arts in Psychology or Educational Psychology.
Along with your Ph.D, Psy.D. or MA (Alberta) you must also pass the EPPP exam (Examination for the Professional Practice of Psychology). Each state and province has a different passing grade. Passing in a jurisdiction where the grade is low will not permit you to be licensed in a jurisdiction where the passing grade is higher. When you take the exam your goal should be to score as high as necessary for the state/province with the highest expected grade that way you will be easily able to move from one jurisdiction to another.
