One of the earlist "punk" records was a 45 by The Damned, and was a cover of "Help!". Maybe I'm just an old fart, but 30 years later, it's still a great cover version, far less turgid than the original!

(BTW I had no idea Hendrix & Aerosmith were considered 'punk' or 'hard rock'... live and learn! LOL!)

Aerosmith did a cover of Come Together that's really good. I'm sure there are more but I can't think of any.
