Many give the thumbs down out of spite and jealousy.
These people are bullies = cowards who hide behind their thumbs. In an old "Kids in the Hall " sketch,
you put your thumb over someone's face and you say, "I don't see you!"
At first, I only gave thumbs up. I don't see thumbs through Mozilla, so I had to guess. Now, if the kid is rude or potty-mouthed, he or she will get a thumbs down.
In Religion ....Wars, there is quite a bit of "thumb-wrestling."

Yes, thumbs down suck. But thumbs up is cool, it's like praising that answer, and if it gets the best a., it counts for a point for that person.
