I think it's pretty mean to say any animal doesn't need a big cage - the bigger the better I say. You wouldn't want to be stuck in a small room your whole life would you?
Hamsters are good - they don't need cleaning as often as mice and rats (once a week), but they can sometimes be nippier. Tho most rodents will be fine if they're handled a lot from a young age. Rats and mice are very intelligent and therefore need lots of toys.
Big cages don't cost THAT much, and they last forever. You might as well go for it, as any other cost involved in owning a rodent is minimal.
Whichever rodent you get, please get it a wheel! (preferably a solid one, they can get toes caught in wire ones)

You should get a degu. They are related to the chinchilla. They are not very expensive to maintain, but like ll rodents, they do require some. Degu food is abou $2 a pond, and lasts a long time.
They also have a very good life span, so that is good. About 8-10 years

A hamster is a good pet. They need a small glass cage. They will chew on the ones with metal bars and they will get poisoned. They need a water bottle hooked on to there cage and they need a bowl of food. (make sure it always has food in it)
You need to clean its cage once a week. Also do not put a boy and boy together they will fight. if u decide to mate hamsters when the mother has babies take the father out he will try to hurt the babies. Also they need pine shavings for the bottom of their cage. Try to get them something to chew on so their teeth don't get to long. hopes this helps

That cage is madefor in basic terms one syrainian hamster. while Syrians get greater, they have an inclination to be approximately to be fairly great lodge length. additionally i might advise getting a 2d cage and splitting they up now, previously they attain maturatly. the bigger Syrians and Teddy submit to hamsters are rather territorial and could kill one yet another. I unquestionably have considered this previously with 2 brother hamsters I owned, and the girls are in basic terms as undesirable.

the best one would be a teddy bear hamster not expensive and it is really good for children they dont eat much all you have to buy them is seeds they like those alot and they crack them themselves usually they like to be alone at times so you should buy it a iglue sort of thing so it can have its own time if it gets scared. leave it when you get it alone for a day so it dosent get stressed.

hamster.
get a dwarf - they're smallest. Robowski dwarves (aka robo), are the smallest, commonly two inches, but they are the fastest. DONT buy a Robo or Teddy Bear (too big, pee to much)
